Ever wonder where your morning omelet comes from? This is by far the creepiest building I've had to work in ever. This is an abandoned egg farm that just so happens to be on one of the properties purchased by the county. This facility at one point held roughly 46,000 chickens. All spent their entire lives cooped up in a 1 foot by 1 and a half foot cage down these 600 foot long corridors lined top to bottom with chicken pens. Some of the chickens that never made it are still lying there in the bottom of their cage. It's an ugly place to be working. I'm going to have some interesting photos the next few weeks that's for sure.

on January 4, 2013These places are genuinely scary I think, whether you're into animal welfare or not. When I was working on our second Dr Who fan film last year we actually used an old piggery as an intergalactic prison, it was very claustrophobic and effective!
