Lone Eagle Peak & Mirror Lake

One of my all time favorite photo adventures. I had wanted to hike back to this hidden Colorado gem ever since I had learned of it's existence. It finally happened when a few friends and I made the 10 mile hike in through a windy white out snow storm over the continental divide. Finally arriving at this peak to find it completely covered in clouds we set up camp in the rain. This particular morning the sun shown through the clouds just long enough to illuminate the peak that I had set out to see.

The Leoti Supercell

This is the highlight shot of my 2016 storm chasing adventure. This massive supercell storm near Leoti, KS stayed nearly stationary for upwards of an hour. It was as if mother nature herself decided to stop and pose for the camera.

Spring Sunset at Hall Ranch

My first attempt at HDR photography. Hall Ranch, Boulder County - I exposed the sky and the ground in 2 different exposures. Later I combined them to make a single image with both exposures right where they needed to be. This photo later went on to be presented as multiple awards for Boulder County.

Colorado in May - you would expect warmer weather and the start of summer this late in the year, but here in Colorado the white out snowstorm is still a likely forecast.

Snowshoing on Christmas Eve has been a family tradition for years. On this one in particular we hiked back to the Delonde Barn at Caribou Ranch. What started out as a clear sunny day, turned into a truely white Christmas and an amazing opportunity for photos.

The last days of Summer

This lone cottonwood at Stearns Lake was blowing gently in this late summer/early autumn day. The clouds looked like paintings, and the tree just stood out perfectly above the cattails.
